@TheSophist2007 you ask how can one abolish the Federal Reserve? It's possible by revoking their "contract" to do business with the United States government and the law that created them in the first place. Then the U. S. Federal Government print up money of it's own from the treasury, but their still should be some kind of referee and oversight because who would trust congress with that kind of power (to print money)?

@IntoEternity0329 I believe that pure transparency would result in the FED going down period. They are secretive for a reason. Expose all their actions and they would be seen as outright traitors. Not that they aren't already by some.

@DrRobertStadler whether the power belongs to the Fed or Congress, they will exist. What we need is sound money and monetary policy, whether it's from Congress or the Fed. You're naive if you think simply abolishing the Fed would result in sound money.

He also refered wrongly to the idea that banks are more dangerous than standing armies. I believe Jefferson meant more to the fractional reserve and manipulating governments and people using debt.

You guys who think we can just abolish the Fed in a year or two are so naive, you really have no idea how much of a transition that would require. Yes it needs to happen, but you can't run on that as your platform or it will scare people. You have to take baby steps, I think just having a responsible completely transparent Fed would be a good first step.
