1 Timothy Chapter 6
3 If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness, 4 he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, 5 useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, ***who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such ***WITHDRAW YOURSELF***.
6 Now godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. 9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
11 But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness.

This is a strong rebuke to those who are perverting and misrepresenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ and fleecing the Sheep. They will One Day give an account for their words.

Why would we want our best life now?

We are to lay up our treasures in heaven.

Jesus had not even a place to lay His head!

We are blessed to know Jesus, but the prosperity doctrine od deception will fall to the economy.

No Other Gospel Galations 1 6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 which is really no gospel at all. where is the line between prosperity and needs?

This is prophetic preaching! I love what Paul said in Romans 8: "If we share in His suffering, we will share in His glory." While I believe the Christian has prosperity, our prosperity is found in the riches of Christ Jesus, not the riches of Mammon. Biblical prosperity transcends our financial state so that we can be content in all things for Jesus is our portion. I wonder how those prosperity pimps handle Phil 4:12,14 and 1 Tim 6:3-10.
