these large TV networks and others, should refrain fron announcing on-air how much cash pledges and other donations on TV. coz, in my opinion, the more the pledges comes through the NGO's the less the government do their job. it makes them lazy, everytime outpouring of help comes the gov't tend to pass the tremendous problem to NGO's. taxes pay these officails to do their job and taxes are where gov't projects fund comes from, so why can't they give the services thats due to its people?

bayani fernanado has nothing to do with this disaster. you can blame the years of polution and irresponsible citizens who dumped bulk trash that clogged the drainage. sorry to say, the philippines has no rescue personnel available.

Because of what Cory Aquino did in 1986, when she took the collective government power in Metro Manila, every city that forms this Mega City started urbanizing their cities in their own terms rather than co operating with each other to create one effective mega city. Because of this, the urbanization of Metro Manila became highly disorganized. Buildings everywhere! No proper sewage system. This, plus the Filipino polluting the waters. This is the result.
