One year after the country's worst ethnic riots in decades killed nearly 200 people, China's remote Xinjiang province is under tight security.




The government has launched an all-out campaign aimed at preventing further bloodshed between ethnic Uighurs and Han Chinese.

Teams of armed police are patrolling the streets of the regional capital Urumqi, and local authorities say stability will be maintained.
