@rpaltza1 THANK YOU FOR THE INFORMATION REGARDING THIS LOVELY SONG! I'VE ALWAYS LIKED THIS GORGEOUS SONG EVER SINCE I HEARD SIMON AND GARFUNKEL'S SIMPLE AND LOVELY VERSION. YES! I REMEMBER ANNA MARIA ALBERGHETTI! THIS IS A SPLENDID SONG TO PLAY FOR LITTLE ONES ON DECEMBER NIGHTS (AND ON CHRISTMAS EVE). I'VE DEDICATED THIS SUBLIME SONG IN MEMORY OF MY HEAVENLY-RESPLENDENT WIFE -- MY DIVINELY- LOVELY WESTERN STAR -- MY BARBRA. BARBRA JEAN "ROSE" RAGAN ( JUNE 23, 1967 -- NOV. 21/22, 2010)

The credits at the end of this upload incorrectly credit the writing of this song to John Rutter. This Star Carol was written in 1954 by Alfred S. Burt (music) and Wilha Hutson (lyrics), the organist of Alfred Burt's father's episcopal church.

I still have that album. I think that's the same album that has a version of the Ava Maria by Isaac Stern.

Hi! I grew up with that song too! This "Star Carol" was written by Al Burt, who was a friend of our family in North Hollywood. John Rutter wrote another "Star Carol". Check it out on YouTube! I'd love to get my hands on that album of yours!

I have that LP. I miss Christmas in the 60's.

I cannot thank you enough for posting this, my all time favorite Christmas song/recording. My mother had this album, too, one of those collections that had a variety of Christmas music. It reminds me of her, she left us 9 years ago. A few years back, someone on YouTube sent me this thru her mpg, but it expired. So to all who cherish this wonderful song, Merry Christmas to us all.
Yikes, you're right - I can't believe I didn't catch that when I first posted it. I originally mixed it up because there is a "Star Carol" choral piece or something by Rutter. I did learn the difference, though, but I thought I changed that! Thanks for noticing! I had a nice e-mail exchange with a Burt family member, so I'm embarrassed to have gotten this wrong! I will fix it as soon as I get a chance!

Anybody know what the lyrics are? I have a recording of this beautiful carol -- music only -- and I would like the choir at my church to be able to sing this for Christmas. If anyone could send them to me at their earliest convenience, I would appreciate it.
Thanks and God Bless!
