Charted at #14 on Billboard chart in July 1956. My favorite version of this song. With the Percy Faith orchestra.

Original Billboard review: "Vale warbles with sincerity and plenty of genuine emotion on a poignant ballad, originaly waxed by country and western artist Eddy Arnold. Carmen McCrae also has a version of the tune out, but the Vale disk will be hard to beat."

Pictured is an original Billboard ad for the single.

B-side was "Enchanted".

Written by Cindy Walker and Eddy Arnold. Ray Charles had a hit with a remake during the following decade.

  • THANKS FOR POSTING THIS. THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVOURITE SONGS!! I LOVE TO HEAR DIFFERENT VERSIONS. I AM NOT FAMILIAR WITH

JERRY VALE AT ALL. I AM JUST DISCOVERING HIS MUSIC. MY FAVOURITE VERSION OF THIS SONG ISFROM TEX RITTER. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE HIS RENDITION OF THIS SONG. I AM AN EDDY ARNOLD FAN FROM WAY BACK,

    BUT I THINK JERRY'S RENDITION SURPASSES EDDY'S, WHICH I DON'T

REALLY CARE TO ADMIT !!!! THANKS AGAIN !
