A tribute to John on the anniversary of his 68th birthday 9th October 2008 (and 33rd birthday of Sean).

John awoke one day and told May Pang that hed dreamt about two women echoing his name, and also heard the strange refrain "Ah! böwakawa poussé, poussé". There is no translation for the words but the female spirits (Two spirits dancing so strange...) were readily identifiable as May and Yoko.

When it came time to record the song (seventh song off the 1974 Walls and Bridges Album), May Pang was invited to whisper John at the relevant point. The song was named #9 Dream in reference to Johns favour of the number 9. The subsequent single was released in January 1975.

Walls and Bridges was recorded and issued during Johns estrangement from Yoko and the album caught John in the middle of his infamous "lost weekend", a period that lasted some eighteen months. It was the last album that John released without input from Yoko.

  • @ameliessong You are so right about Buddy Holly being an influence on John and also Elvis..all three died too young. Their music still lives on and has withstood the passage of time I guess. Where have the last 30 years gone....

  • John really did a good job as a singer and he asked us to imagine a world without war, without hate, with the dangers we have live in some places. In my opinion the world would more different if John were here today.

  • Beautiful.......RIP John.... :`(

  • thank you dr love train for sharing this beautiful video with me

    xoxox

  • This song played backwards shows that the line abakawa posse posee (or whatever) says I sold my soul. Listen to it backwards. He says this because he is upset he lied about Pauls death. If you want to know more about pauls death let me know and I will explain everything as I have been studting the beatles for a long time.

  • The reason John likes the Number 9 is because thats how many letters are in Mccartney and Paul died so he always uses that number. RIP Paul and F U imposter Paul.

  • @MollyTTree I'd bet that without John, we would have never heard of Yoko, which is why she latched on to him so tightly, imo.

  • @ToddSweeneyOnce I have to agree with you. I always thought Yoko was really very lucky!

  • I'm currently re-reading Goldman's book and I don't know how much is true and how much isn't, but I do believe he should have stayed with May. His life might have turned out differently(for the better). Just my opinion. I do know that this is his best solo album, and as nzlennonfan said, his last without Yoko's input. Coincidence? I don't think so.

  • Peace 2 All!

  • @DaveWollenberg Just saying she's said "mistrress" means a secret affair, and she was openly living with John.No secrets.

  • @porcupineinteruptus Why did John see May, while separated from Yoko, then?
