@Kra7as If anything, The Arabs and the Chinese were on even terms when compared with each other on science and technology. Numerous engineering accomplishments have been made during the Tang such as matches, dry docks, cast iron, double-action piston pump, horse collar, wheelbarrow, the propeller, natural gas as fuel etc. etc. Even greater scientific and technological accomplishments would be made by the Song and Ming dynasties as well.
Lol. the only thing identifing the muslims in this video is the turban. in real life, muslims wore metal caps and chain armor while the chinises wore lamellar.
@TheXanian Chinese records mentioned 30,000 Tang soldiers while Arab sources mentioned 100,000 Tang soldiers. Other than Tang Chinese and Arab Muslims, there were Tibetan and Turkic troops as well. The reason that the Tang Chinese lost because their Qarluq Turkic allies switch sides during the battle. Although considered a Chinese defeat, it halted Muslim eastward expansion. Centre Asia was placed under Muslim influence. Islam entered China through trade instead of miltary conquest.
Chinese historical records suggest that during the battle of Talas, Arabian troops outnumbered Tang troops. There were approximately 70000 to 100000 Arabian troops, while there were only 20000 to 30000 Tang troops.
Scholars are still debating whether the battle at Talas an actual battle or just a border skirmish. This conflict is the first and only armed conflict between a Chinese army and an Arab Muslim army. The Arab Muslim victory changed the outcome as over the centuries, Turkic people began to embrace Islam. It was Turkic Muslims that influenced many aspects of Islamic identity. The crescent was originally a Turkic symbol became a universal Islamic symbol.
Nice cartoon, but I have to say that it's not historically accurate. Tang Dynasty troops did not wear Qipao.Qipao was a Manchurian dress and it was introduced to China in the 17th century when the nomadic Manchurians conquered Chinese Ming Dynasty. Chinese people at Tang Dynasty wore Han Biuk (漢服). Han Biuk was an ancient Chinese dress, similar to modern day Japanese kimono.
you cannot compare the culture of China to Old Persian for the same reason you cannot compare Buddah to Alah, because they are each dominant in their own sphere ( Near East vs Far East)
P.S. Old Persian civilization is now separated into many different countries while China is still in one piece
magnifying glass and alarm clocks were from the Greeks though... and alot of that math and philosophy things were discovered by Mid.East first simply because Mid.East is the birthplace of human civilization
