Here is another topic I consider a main theme of contemporary life: we are all alone. Even when I was single in San Francisco, I remember talking to a married friend (who lived 8 blocks away!) about why we didn't see each other. She thought I was out every night with a hot date or going to hear live music. I thought she was curled up with her new husband, in loving bliss. We both realized that much of the time, we were sitting on our couches, watching TV, wishing we were talking to a friend.

I think we get stuck, especially in LA, where fear of traffic keeps everyone out of their cars after 2:30 p.m. I think if you don't institutionalize meetings (book club, bowling night) you never see anyone! It's the reason I have my dinner club. It's also one of the reasons, I think, that I had a big wedding, because at least I saw some friends that year.

  • you know thats kinda true.. im still very young (23) and i moved away from my home in ohio right out of high school and i dont have any friends that i even talk to any more other than one person. my best friend from highschool every day i call him or he calls me and we talk for a long time about old times and about what we are goin to do later.. it would just be nice to see him again

  • What is so great about you topics is that they are really true. I have a lot of friends from being a Cop, and my wife has a lot of friends. However, I think that I only e-mail my NYPD buddies and my wife will see her friends twice a year if she is lucky. Basically, you hit the nail right on the head.

  • do you have a job or does your husband pay for you to waste your time at home and make these stupid videos

  • everybody is scared to death

  • Studies have shown that the healthiest people spend time with their friends. I don't think emails count. Make the time to be with your friends. Take a yoga class together, meet for coffee, go for a walk...make standing dates that can't be broken. Let yur family know that your friends are important to you and your physical and mental health. Love the vlogs...keep em coming.

  • lot of people seem like there envolved in there own little worlds now, it take a death or a wedding to bring them togeather.

Guess thats the way it is now.

  • give em a random call when no ankle biters are around.

  • lol...so true. :o)
