"I Dont Know If I've Ever Heard A Building This Deafening" - Mickey Redman ( Red Wings Announcer )

This was the 3rd Game of the 1996 Playoffs in Winnipeg where the Jets would take on the mighty Red Wings at Home for the first time in the series. The Jets lost the first 2 games in Detroit only to head home and get a huge boost from the Winnipeg Fans! Once again this year, the fans came out, dressed in white to help support their Team and the world famous “Winnipeg Whiteout” would not dissapoint! The Jets would end up sending the crowd home happy tonight with a 4-1 Win scoring 3 times in the 3rd Period.
With the win, the Jets would close the Gap to a series lead for Detroit of 2-1. Detroit would go on to beat the Jets by a series final of 4-2 however; the Jets went out fighting and is something that ALL Jets fans can still be proud of today!

  • Here's a question. Has any Coyotes' home game ever been as loud as a Jets home game? This vid proves that the Jets may have been in a small town with a small arena, but fans actually showed up and were probably some of the loudest in the league.

  • I was at this game!!!! My heart died a little that day..

  • EDDIE O! EDDIE O! WHOOOOOO! YEAH! WHOOOOOO!

  • I was at this game. People were crazy!

  • mabey they put the backup in to help the jets win a game ;)

    LOL JKJK

  • *Sigh* I was born over 1000 miles and 10 years too late. I would have KILLED to see this game live.

  • They do want Phoenix or else they wouldn't of put a bid in for them. It wouldn't be the same if it wasn't the Jets

  • Florida may not be ideal for hockey....but Tampa Bay nor Miami (Florida Panthers) got their hockey teams by stealing another cities team.....unlike Phoenix, Carolina, and Denver....they didn't have plans for a new arena, but Jets, Whalers, and Nordiques all had strong followings. Had they not moved...the Whalers, Jets, and Nordiques would all be entering their 39th year as a franchise, and 32nd season in the NHL

  • Gotta love those robots

BTW Gary bettman is a douche

  • I was at this game, very back row behind the net. My ears rang for about three days after. Thanks for the post.
