Alberto Gonzales resigns, but due to a slip of the tongue, Bush instead laments the impeachment of Bill Clinton.

In 1998-99, the Republicans chose to drag Clinton through the mud for purely political reasons. Bush personally benefited from that impeachment by campaigning in 2000 that he would "restore honor to the Oval Office."

Now Bush is complaining that his Texas crony Alberto Gonzales' "good name was dragged through the mud for political reasons." Of course, that's not true. Gonzales was forced to resign due to a fatal combination of his own incompetence, his lying under oath, and his politicization of the Justice Department.

But even if Bush's statement were true, then he among all Texans should know that a good ol' Texas mud draggin' can go both ways: What goes around comes around. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

  • in terms of sex scandals, men are made scpaegoat, while women is set free without any punishment, though both are equally guilty. Clinton's law practsing license was cancelled, debarred from election or as party worker, but Monica was offered seats in Oxford University. Is it justice/ equality??

  • Clinton committed perjury during the witchhunt. Monica didn't. But the point of this video is that Bush has his own double standard: It's okay to drag Democrats through the mud, but not Republicans, even when the Republican's infraction was clearly job-related.

  • bush should apologize for his presidency

  • Yes, Clinton's sex scandal should have been a private affair. But, when the President of the United States puts his hand on The Bible and solemnly swears to tell the truth and nothing but the truth and than tells a lie, under oath, that is between the President and the whole nation.

  • The Twenty-second Amendment (Amendment XXII) of the United States Constitution sets a term limit for the President of the United States. The United States Congress passed the amendment on March 21, 1947. It was ratified by the requisite number of states on February 27, 1951.
