@electronx4 u are right, i just got mine for 25 dollars on ebay today, i opened up the back panel and remove the battery i need to click through the time again and it booted after restarting

You dont have to change the battory, just take it out. You ll have to go through this setup everytime you boot it, but it will boot

when i did this to mine it fixed it but now i cant install window s98se every time i boot from cd all i get is a flashing underscore plz help

the cmos button battery is CR1220 just ask radio shack for it

Lol, i just found one in the trashbin at work and brought it home. I have the exact same problem and decided to give youtube a go with it and this is what i find. DAMN i love internet. :)
check on the bottom of the computer. there is panel 1.5" x 3" with a single screw. remove this panel. there is a small round battery just take it to any grocery store and look for a matching battery.

you need to change the CMOS battery. it is located next to the memory. just unscrew the small panel on the bottom you cant miss it.
