The accents are all very strangled.
The best bit is when Stewart G slaps Margaret L's face.
Stewart should have punched Jame's M when he , JM, wasnt looking.

'The man in grey' was the first, and I think, the best of the 'Gainsborough/Gaumont-British' melodramas of the war years. It was pure escapism adapted from a novel. It is brilliant now, but emagine, the audience responce in 1943 when all around them is Wartime austerity. After the success of "The man in grey", Gainsborough produced dozens of these types of melodramas, which were also very popular. The Mason,Lockwood,Graiger,Kent & Culvert combination in these films was unbeatable.
