Finnish Harri "Hakki" Maikola has been racing with different motorbikes over 30 years. He started with motocross in seventies and then quite soon moved to road racing. He retired from racing just past year.
Hakki is very well known road racing driver in Finland, winning many champion titles here. He has also been racing several times in foreign countries, especially in nordic series but has been many times in famous Le Mans in France and many other tracks.
Beside the many small and not-so-small injuries he has had during his driving career, the man is still going strong and recently celebrated his 50th birthday. He still hasn't left the racetracks for good cause he's now helping his son Jesse who is also driving a road racing bike.
So Hakki has been dealing with racing bikes most of his life for this moment. This slideshow shows some moments and glimpses from his career all the way from the seventies till present day.
In these photos, videos and news stories (in finnish, sorry) can be seen many memorable moments and people to him. Of course just ten minute time is way much too short to show them all, this is just a fraction of everything.
Hakki is really one of the finnish road racing legends, he was fearless and aggressive driver on the track but was very friendly, helping and encouraging fellow racers everytime.
May his next 50 years be almost as full of speed as for now.. but just almost. :)
