  • @herbiesnerd

Not true. The traditional Jujutsu had strikes (Ne Waza), weapons, and tons more throws than the Brazillian version that is so popular today.

  • seems like a hybrid self deffense bjj kind of thing

  • @herbiesnerd cough, incorrect, cough cough. Take it from someone who follows a syllabus handed down from a traditional ryu, there were strikes. Of course fighting a samurai in armour strikes are less effective but striking attacks to the knees and other points are useful for moving your opponent's body-weight or shifting them into positions which make other techniques easier. There have always been strikes my friend

  • Glad they are training but you need to teach her that when she punches, do not lead with your face. Any striker with a left or right hook will have her KO'd real quick. I don't like this combo class format. Jiu Jitsu is Jiu Jitsu. This is not a jiu jitsu school. They can call it what they want but if they're going to teach striking, call it something else even though they are obviously teaching some jiu jitsu. There was never a form of ju jutsu that included striking, not even pre judo in 1882.

  • Where is the rest of the exam?

  • @johnoneillbomb No, actually it's because a lot of people like to mix striking arts with something like Aikido or Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and call it "Jujutsu"

Martial arts are physical expressions of their philosophies. Jujutsu was created with the philosophy of "Gentle art"

All this taking a karate stance. And tensing up for strikes. Stopping motion(instead of yielding). Etc Etc. Is NOT representing any philosophy of Jujutsu. Just another person trying to cash in on using exotic japanese names.

  • Looks like Karate and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to me.

  • enjoyed this vid ... good grading

  • what i wanna know is how are we gonna find shoes to match an orange belt???

    jk

  • That's it?...
