curiosa was my first cure show. i thought it was awesome. looking back the only disappointing thing about it was finding out it was an abbreviated show for them. normally they play for three hours whereas at curiosa the average show was two.

@Kirascry Whoa! You wrote me, like, four comments!
I'm nto sure exactly what to say. There's too much contradiction to reply on. I dig the irony, though.

@LizzyLouFiftyTwo To be honest though when it comes to any band your always gonna get a poser, I'm quite pleased with the British, Cure fanbase but I'm sure there's 1-2 dickheads out there as you described who only listen to Boys Don't Cry. But as I said you get that with any band, like Iron Maiden...Another good example is The Clash, they all say they like The Clash when they've only listened to London Calling...sigh.

@LizzyLouFiftyTwo Going back to posers if anything you should feel sorry for Iron Maiden, seriously...FUCKING IRON MAIDEN T-SHIRTS! Everywhere!
I remember once talking to a scene girl wearing an Iron Maiden shirt:
Me "hey how are you?"
Girl "hi, what music do you like?"
Me "Punk, post-punk"
Girl "...Oh, WELL I LIKE HEAVY METAL durrrp..."
Me "I see your wearing an iron maiden shirt"
Girl "Oh I don't like them, but their t-shirts are cool. durrrp!"

@LizzyLouFiftyTwo And where I live there's two scenes, the scene kids and the indie kids. Indie kids are alright and quite afew of them like The Cure and once again they actually listened to their albums in their own time. The scene kids however hate anything goth related, even the scene kids who consider themselves goth! Those "goths" listen to Marilyn Manson, Slipknot, Korn and heavy metal and while thats fine by me they completely rip on the likes of Siouxsie and the Banshees!
Funny thing is, Marylin Manson doesn't even get a passing thought in America anymore. Korn is kind of making a mini comeback thanks to dramatically changing their sound, while The Cure will always be relevant. And Slipknot?? The only people I know that listen to them are usually white trash douchebags.

I love how as he got more and more famous, he got more and more shy and modest. He didn't get a huge fat head like todays 'stars' do. Been a fan from the start many... many... many (but we aren't old yet Robert!) years ago. Genius he was, and remains.
