another attempt at sharing the mysteries of old time blues.
try to get your feet wet in open G tuning.
this really a classic way to play.
change your EADGBe to DGDGBd and you are right in.

Back in the stone age, I learned without the net, so i drew and mapped the fretboard looking for "new" chord shapes. there was not a lot of interesting stuff there until i focused on what did NOT change on the retune.

Once you get comfortable in this tuning, the clock on the wall always says "quarter to two. last call for alcohol."

Sorry about the quality of these lessons. they are unscripted and i tend to ramble. i think i'm getting old....once i shook my fist at the cam and spit "raaaaaaaa yasonovab$%!h raaaaaaaaaa". it wasn't even on....

note: i think i called a flat 9th a sharp ninth. get over it.

  • very useful and well explained :-) and not as fast as other lesson un the tube ;-) for the strangers like me that have not a good english comprehension is really a beatiful gift....and i started to study now slide guitar after years spended playing blues in standard tuning..many thanks...
