In President Eisenhower's farewell Address to the Nation he warned Americans about the persistant threat to our liberties by the "military industrial complex".
This was the first known use of that expression.

Dwight David "Ike" Eisenhower was the thirty-fourth President of the United States from 1953 until 1961 and a five-star general in the United States Army. During the Second World War, he served as Supreme Commander of the Allied forces in Europe.

  • That's a Republican I'd vote for. Go read the Republican Party platform of 1956 and tell me if I'm nuts. The Republicans of today have swung our country so far to the right it's scary.

Read the 1956 platform if you don't believe me. It's so far left from the "Democrats" today it's not even funny. Wake up America. You're being robbed.

  • @Christhefireshark So true - so would Lincoln, T. Roosevelt, Eisenhower, Reagan.

  • Why can't the Republicans go back to their more reasonable years? Even Reagan would get called a liberal today.

  • This clip is in a documentary named "Why We Fight" by Eugene Jarecki. Google the title and you'll find the entire documentary on google video. Cheers~
