Hawaii Big Island Tour

Cruising the Big Island. Some shots from North Kohala, Waipio, Kona, Hilo, Puna, and Kilauea. We swam with turtles, saw dolphins from the beach, and flew over a gas and lava spewing volcano. All in five days. There's also a few shots from Honolulu - Waikiki, you should check out Dukes in the Outrigger if you get a chance. A reasonably priced burger, and a setting you just can't beat...

the waterfall in this vid is at the north end of the waipio valley beach... I think the flow was higher than usual that day. The place is awesome and well worth the effort.

the first couple of minutes are taken from the start of our trip to the big island, which included a stop over on Oahu. We can't fly direct to Kona or Hilo... There are some shots from Waikiki, having a mai tai at Dukes, then checking the place out the next morning...

one of the better vacation videos . A little of something to see. The waterfalls above and below were beautiful. The music was great not annoying at all but worked well with the sites. Great camera work and am curious what kind of camcorder that was used.

Thanks for the nice review! We have a Canon ZR800, it's easy to use, was cheap, and has been dependable. Also has a very good range of optical zoom... try the Big Island, it's great!

@HatsuneMikuKat a MUST is a helicopter ride ... and of course ... don't miss the BOARDWALK in KONA, HAWAII .... lots of great items for sale ... gifts and souvenirs ... BEST SHAVED ICE ... and music along the way ...

CITY OF REFUGE is a great spot to visit ...

@HatsuneMikuKat the waters are calm and you can paddle across the bay to the monument ... you may see dolphins along the way ... they are friendly ... once you get to the bay ... you'll enjoy snorkling there ... then you'll paddle back to shore ... OR take the FAIRWIND CRUISE ...much easier ... they'll do the paddling (actually it's a big boat) and they'll supply all the gear ... you'll get the experience without the tired and sore arms ...

You must go to OLD HAWI ... SPENCER BEACH ... CITY OF REFUGE, WAIMEA ... AKA AKA FALLS ... OMA UMU FALLS ... HILO TOWN ... VOLCANO NATIONAL PARK ... stop at the PUNA ULU Bakery for great bread, sandwiches and treats, visit Honokaa and see glass blowing ... and go to KEALAKEKUA and visit the CAPTAIN COOK monument, and snorkle in this wonderland of God's aquarium ... If you rent a KAYAK there at KEALAKEKUA BAY ...

The video above ... nicely done ... depicts some of the best highlights. Once here, at WALMART or COSTCO, get THE BIG ISLAND BOOK ... good guidebook to guide you through all the places to see. You'll want to take the main road, which goes AROUND the island ... on a 7-hour drive (that is ... if you don't stop ..)  Obviously .. you'll stop along the way ...
