On the 20th November 2011 Stuart Phillips and his artistic team took to the stage at the Ideal Home Show at Christmas, showing their latest hair fashions.
This was the first time the Ideal home show had a celebrity hair partner, that would perform makeovers on their new catwalk.

This video shows Stuart plucking someone from the audience and cutting their hair! Stuart chose a lady called Alice, Alice had a long layered square bob. The shape didn't really suit her, it made her face too square and flat, the fringe was also very heavy. He would re-style her hair by cutting it dry and mainly chopping into and free hand cutting!

Stuart starts by explaining to the audience that all he needs to do is tweak the hair, by just cutting off a couple of inches and from this he can transform her hair into a new trendy hairstyle.

The exhibition was in front of a seated audience at the Ideal Home Exhibition in Earls Court London, UK.

  • Is this exhibition just in London, UK?

  • @jeannierlewis26 That's correct, it's also over a 100 years old and held twice a year, only in London! Although it's an exhibition with the latest gadgets to buy for your home, this was the first year they built a catwalk, Stuart and his team were the first UK hairdressers to perform makeovers on stage!

  • Really appreciate if someone could answer this! How long did it take Stuart to learn cutting hair this good? What's his background?

  • @cyndit434 Stuart trained for 4 years in London at Vidal Sassoon, he then travelled around Australia putting on unique hair shows and gaining lots of experience. He bought his London salon in 1995 and since then has sponsored the British BAFTA's 3 times and entered the Guinness book of world records for the most expensive hairdresser in the world. His now been hairdressing for 25 years and is a master of his trade.

  • This is brilliant Stuart <3

  • @tobybelchy Thanks Jade :)
