Rough day but I made it through. 16 points. Towards the end of the day I felt some what bloated so I didn't quite eat it all. I think if I skip anything at the end of the day again it will be the rice because the fruit is raw and has more nutrients that my body needs right now the rice for me is more of a filler even though it has nutrients as well they are not as easily assimilated. I made a commitment to stay on it for at least a week and probably 2 before I start on my next phase of adding in green smoothies, and then eventually to all raw vegan.

  • and my blood sugar has only dipped into an emergency level once in the last three years. I have mounds of energy! Balanced diet not rice not fasting diet not the atkins diet or any other super boring or complicated diet just a balanced diet and a little exercise. If you stick with that .... you will really see results. If you stick with rice .... unless you plan to eat nothing but rice forever than you will not stick with this...

  • First and foremost let me say that I agree with you that a well balanced diet is the best diet to be on and that if you can do that first thing you should. You should also excercize everyday. If anyone has listened to all my stuff they would know that I was working on a way to change my diet to a (well balanced) raw vegetarian diet and this was one way just to help me not feel deprived as I was getting there. The rice fore me was just a filler until I filled it with more vegetable and fruit.

  • It was also a time when I had no money so had to rely alot on my food storage. This diet works and believe it or not it is balanced if you had ever read all the books about it you would find it was originally created by a doctor for the purpose of getting weight off fast and you only stay on this portion for a short amount of time and then changes toward what most call "normal" You do not eat just rice for the rest of your life! You never eat "just" rice on this diet!

  • How did you do on this rice diet? Did you do white rice or brown rice? I heard this works really well. Doug in Calif..

  • Brown rice because it has more nutrients and more fiber to fill you up. It works well but you have to get past the boredom of having rice so often.

  • @donnaichapman Oh well that makes sense that is just my ignorance of the diets entirety. I didn't mean to seem as though I was putting down your effort. I think any effort to better ones health is a worthy endeavor and brown rice is extremely good for you and since your going to be moving on to a raw veggie diet can be essential for balancing protein. I was in a mood that morning I wrote the comment to you. Good luck and I hope everything goes well! :)

  • ... oh and I forgot to add i have a benign insulinoma and before started watching the amount of food I was eating and what I chose to feed my body I would seize once a week at least from my sugar dipping down below 30... I was constantly tired sick and depressed. Once I cleaned my diet up I lost almost 110 lbs in a year. The rest of the weight just continued to fall off me and all I did for exercise was walk.

  • So... are you going to eat rice forever... just rice? This diet isn't one you are going to stick with! 5 almost 6 years ago I weighed 300 lbs but even after my third pregnancy I only weigh 136 lbs and have weighed that 4 years and I didn't do it on rice or any other fad diet. Sensible eatting, staying hydrated. Over 40% of every meal I eat are veggies or fruits and guess what I still get to have a soda if I want to or a bag of popcorn. I haven't gained back the weight because my diet is balanced
