After reading the 17 comments posted here so far, I am saddened by most of them. Man is really not that smart, so don't waste time trying to split hairs and argue opinions. God can take the most hardened man and change him instantly. Even if you don't believe in God, Christ, or the bible, your odds are still horribly against you: 50/50. True...or not true. If you genuinely want to be saved by Jesus, then ask God to show you the truth. He will, everytime. Christ payed your debt, take God's gift.

1000 years eh. Thats the thing, biblical literalists just cant deal with big numbers. Thats why the prefer to think of the earth as 6000 years old, its an easy number to handle, they simply cant comprehend the truth of the universe, that its 13.7 billion years old. 13 700 000 000 years is just too big for you folks.

@normannemo Leviticus 25; god endorses chattel slavery.
Leviticus 11:13-19 God clearly says bats are birds.

The Bible is clear--every one has an eternal soul and will exist SOMEWHERE FOREVER

I was raised as a Christan when I was growing up until a time when I stopped going to church, to this day I don't go to church. But when I do go to church is when a family/friend dies.
When it came to that prayer I barely could read out the prayer let alone say it myself, I still don't know how to recieve Jesus but I would love to learn it someday or now, the only thing keeping me away from church is nothing and yet I don't go to church, God please help me.

@CanadaCraig Poor soul! Please do a real study on hell in the Bible. It can't hurt to pray to about it. We talking about eternity here. What if u die and hell is real and eternal? Isn't it better to study and pray for the truth, than to just go by your feelings? I want to see u in heaven. Jesus talked about hell more than heaven. Read about it. Acts 2:38 is still God's plan of salvation.
@rossdaboss1959 Show me in the Bible where it says that man has an immortal soul. Everlasting life is NOT promised to everyone. Did you hear that? Immortality is NOT something that man is born with. It is a gift that God promises will be 'put on' those who - in this life - believe and trust in Him. In other words - those of us who accept that gift. Those who do NOT - will - eventually - after they have paid an appropriate penalty for their sins - DIE - as in 'be no more'. They will be burned up.

The time has come for ALL to actually READ THE BIBLE. No one will spend 'eternity' in a place we often call 'Hell'. In FACT - 'Hell' itself doesn't last forever. 'Hell' [Where the unbelievers and Satan are to be held for a PERIOD OF TIME] will be thrown into the 'lake of fire' where ALL [Including HELL] will be burned up - to exist no more. Don't be fooled by the word 'forever' in the Bible. Jonah's time in the belly of the whale was referred to as 'forever'. Is he still there?! Think about it.
