I agree with everything that most everyone has written. It is indeed a sad song. It may be one of the darkest songs that George wrote. But, they all had a post-Beatles depression. It's true that George had incredible talent and would have been fabulous (pun partially intended) but lingering under the umbrella of Paul and John, perhaps was a perpetual shadow. The music business is crazy, but they survived. John was shot by a cretin who should never see the light of day and G. succumbed to C.

George is a genius!! His music kept improving. The last album Brainwashed was one of his strongest, and he recorded it when he was dying!!

@adamkincaid1234 Yes, this song IS Fab - in large part by the influence of Jeff Lynne of ELO, who co-wrote this w/ GH & also selflessly helped boost the careers of many other artists - Roy Orbison's hit "You Got It" has Jeff Lynne all over it. I am NOT bashing George or his talent, believe me; I feel that "All Things Must Pass" is a MASTERPIECE that I play to this day, but feel his music went downhill after that - UNTIL he teamed up with Jeff Lynne. R.I.P., beautiful George, & John.
