I'm trying to grow husk cherries and giant cape gooseberries they seem to take a while to germinate. I almost gave up on them then lo one day up came the tiny sprouts.

Things are really taking shape your yard is going to look like something out of Better Homes and Gardens. If by husk cherries you are talking about what I call ground cherries they are related to the tomatillo and take a long time to germinate and are slow to grow but all of a sudden they take off and produce lots of fruit before summer is over, very good too.

my tomatillos are long and crooked too!! I thought it was due to them reaching for light but maybe its just their growth habit???
