Halo 3 - Landfall (Extended Live-Action Short-Film)

An extended version of the live-action short-film created by Weta Workshop and the same team who was originally behind the now defunct Halo film, before their funding was pulled. It's supposed to be what happened before the game started, with a team of Orbital Drop Shock Troopers and UNSC Marines fighting a losing battle against Brutes, just so they can pin-point Master Chief's reentry for Sgt. Johnson's recovery team. This one actually shows some combat, Spike Grenades, Spikers, a Gravity Hammer, human Sniper Rifle, a Warthog in action, and the iconic SPNKR Rocket Launcher in full use.

I think the same can be said of any video game-based film, unfortunately Hollywood feels otherwise, which is why all video game-based films are utter garbage.

It it goes into CGI, then you're basically kissing a cinematic release goodbye. Nevermind Final Fantasy.

I personally think this would look pretty good. Though it does seem to have a bit more of a...Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter feel to it, as opposed to anything.

All live-action video-game films are trash because the prospect of making a video game live action causes the film-makers to depart from the source material way too much, because they think certain things about video games are silly or childish and change things. That's why 'cinematic releases' are always utter failures. It's sad. Games should stay games. You can't emulate a game in live-action. At least Hollywood can't.

If you guys wanna see what a Halo movie would feel like go watch District 9. Thats the team that would get it done and the team behind this mini masterpiece. They will eventually make a movie I know it.
