  • I havent done the biomechanical analysis of rows, but unlike most exercises I find that the rep gets harder during the top portion of the movement.. which is kind of weird really, hence I would suppose making the movement easier at the top and heavier at the bottom, would be more beneficial... does anybody else feel the same??

  • Is someone srsly telling Dave Tate what to do below, l o l.

  • @madsbregnhoej I would imagine that it is mostly due to the leverage you have at the beginning and then the angle the weight is at during the last portion.

  • single arm rows are no good, and you shouldn't want to make them easier. They should be done with a bar, or a pair of dumbells from the floor and a good rep range would be 8-12, and just a few quick sets. They should be done with a better range of motion than what is being shown here. Remember these are assistance work and should be more related to any lift you may be doing, i.e. deadlifts, power cleans, and snatches. keep your back flat and chest up especially at the top.

  • @MellonVegan it would be a pain in the ass, and I'd never do this myself, but on the side 'how could you make a row easier at the top?' just do what most people do on their bench presses...have someone spot you and help you lift the weight in the top ROM...besides that, I have no idea how to make a row easier at the top...bands/chains would make it harder at the top soo...maybe some sort of weight releaser at the top somehow...you got me thinking about this now!!

  • @madsbregnhoej I would agree on that but I can´t think of any way to make it easier at the top.

  • @madsbregnhoej It's because in the top position the lats are almost fully contracted. So you have to move the last bit with the biceps. I.e. the last part of the movement is mostly biceps involvement. The biceps is way weaker than your lats so it's natural to feel like that.

  • Y u wearing a belt bro?
