Captain America represents the American Ideal because he believes that to be Truth and Justice. There can be no greater difference between him and a Nazi. To say that they are similar because They are both patriotic is akin to saying that Churchill and Hitler were the same because they both were human.
He is not without fault, I don't think anyone is trying to say that. It is his faults and how he works past them that make him such a great hero and role model.

Read "The Truth: Red White and Black" to get this whole story. Isaiah's grandson is now a superhero called "The Patriot" in marvel comics and his son is called "Isaiah X". They all have cap's powers.
