people who blast seth godin are people who know nothing about marketing

if you appreciate the beauty of marketing then i believe you would have enjoyed this video as much as i did

im eint a marketer but i can tel he just want a talks about his book for sales to come up for him thats why its title is marketers are lier... as you can see what his doing is marketing aswell... very nice strategy...

So when will Google fail? When they become overtly commercialised whic h is slowly happening, the ads are coming in and Google is monopolising, when the ads get too much ppl will latch onto the next simple easy to use non commercialised well presented search engine.

Hmmm, so much bullshit
1. Google -a very simple web page with a box for your search. No advertisment no extra news no nothing.
2. The search results are usually very good from the search so the technology is very good and the presentation is excellent
3.Google started at a time when few true search engines were on the market
Thats the end of it simples. You dont need Seth Godin to tell you that. Its a good product that the whole world hooked onto and is happy with. Thats why Google grew.

I disagree. He's talking about simple concepts that hold a lot of power. The majority of Google's power comes from a few simple things. Additionally, his concept "technology gives you a shot at marketing" is DEAD on! Most developers (and I am one) completely miss this.

Having read "Tribes", I can say that this guy has greatly inspired me!
