I am a diehard Beatles fan, and I was impressed by what he did with the song. People might say that this was an unoriginal cover - well duh, you don't just go and change up a Beatles song just like that. "Hey Jude" is an epic song just the way it is, he didn't need to do any vocal acrobatics just to prove a point. His voice sounded clear and his phrasing was stellar. And I love that he did the scream during the "Better better better" build-up. Well done, Mr. Allen.

When I first saw the Adam performances I was like, poor Kris, musta been hard to follow him up. BUT it turns out (judging by this vid) that it was just like the AI finale; Kris' singing "Kiss a Girl" was just as good as Adam's "Kiss" performance, just in a different way. Kris creates intimacy and relatabillity (is that a word?) and Adam creates a spectacle. Just two different styles, but both incredible. I'll be buying both their albums, definitely.

I usually don't like anyone else singing a Beatle song, but Kris did a really nice job on this one.

Bravo Kris!  I am a Danny Gokey fan, but Kris was my second choice that year.
