Hi Doc, I've only been smoking recently and am I glad I found this video, I never understood how people smoked through most of the cigar without that harsh flavor, but now I do. thank you for your advice!

Its raining out here and im sitting infront of the computer smoking and looking up cigar video's.
As a begginer I just tried both purge's on a Bahia Blu torpedo and noticed it kept the cigar tasting fresh and tasty !!
Thank you for teaching me a valuable cigar technique
Doc..you are.. the MAN !!

@jackthecurmudgeon i know that. i wd still keep the smoke in my mouth but instead of just 'toasting' the cigar so to speak i was asking whether you could just suck while lighting it in the way you do with a cigarette. anyway thanks for your advice.
Try removing your lighter once the Flambe begins. I use this technique. Once the Flambe goes out without the assistance of the lighter I feel like that's the sweet spot and you don't loss any flavor. So the lighter is lit less than a second but the Flambe is much longer.

@TechNickAll That's exactly right, though it takes a little time for certain cigars to "catch" the flame. The one in the video didn't need to be purged so I kept the light in place longer to see if the chemicals would catch. Even if you over-light the foot while purging, you won't lose any flavor because you are blowing any unwanted chemicals outward.

How long have you been smoking cigars and how often do you smoke one?

@Cennor11 Don't remember when I started, but probably about 1-2 a day.
