Playing the Monome, especially outdoors, can be quite therapeutic when you are sick. Today I grabbed a sample from one of my favorite songs, made a quick drum loop, and then threw the two in mlr. I made them play at a few different speeds and had one channel play in reverse. The video isn't perfect or anything, just a snippet of some of my therapy.

probably around 500USD... i built a kit, so it ran me roughly 200USD total.

not difficult at all. setting it up could prove a little tedious if you aren't already familiar with some of the tech behind it. but it can be played however you can possibly imagine, so once it is configured to your taste, its a breeze to play. and the feel of the buttons fantastic.
