East Harbor Beach was a 2 mile sand beach in East Harbor State Park near Port Clinton, Ohio. In the mid 1970s, strong storms flooded the beach and carried a section of sand out to Lake Erie.
This video shows the beach before these storms - and at the present time.

Beachaid - East Harbor was formed as an advocate for restoration to its original beauty.

  • What is going on with this effort? The beachaid site doesn't seem to work. Is the effort to save the beach still going on?

  • The website is back up and running. Stay tuned for a new video coming out soon. Thank you for your support and interest.

  • I was there the night the storm went through, woke up in a foot deep water in my tent, I was on a cot...and the beach was gone

  • I'm 28 and have been to east Harbor every 4'th of July since I was 3. The beach is not in good shape! Very little room to enjoy during busy 4'th weekend.

  • "In the mid 1970s, strong storms" Actually, the Army Core of Engineers played around with lake-levels. That was the main cause of the loss of sand.

  • micky5213q623, your quite an insult to people. People like you and your senseless Youtube comments that don't get attention are idiotic.

I hope East Harbor is protected more in the future. I love the northern side of the beach, where my grandfather and I go with our dingy. :)
