SRAM vs Shimano Rear Derailleur Test

I've got Deore Shadow and its body doesn't move at all during riding. In fact, it's attached rigidly.

if the derailleur gets bent, which happens from time to time, this test becomes useful as the unit with less spring tension will tend to jump to another gear. Heavy pedaling along with minor bend in derailleur would be great test. New shadow gear looks to have improved on that front.

The shimano is 'damping' the flap of the chain. The SRAM is stiff thus allowing the chain to slap.

@bikeracerguy didnt they try before? dont think it fared better than mavic's electronic shifting xperiment..... also campy's appeal is there so specialized in road equipment

This video is quite misleading, no matter which you think is working better. The movement of the derailleur is not an indicator of anything useful. What one should be looking at is how much the chain moves. A high-speed camera is really necessary to see HOW one is better than the other. It should also be tested under a moderate pedaling load and while freewheeling. This view is only useful to see the difference between the pivot at the attach point and the fixed mount.

you can't compare an old shimano deore long derailleur to a latest sram xO, its just not right.
