He was a great puncher, but not a great technician in the face of real skill or pressure. He was flawed. Jones would've countered him repeatedly and beaten him handily had they fought.
ye fair point mate, well said, mcclellan seemed to have a freakish elasticity about him, he could hit from anywhere with tremendous power, its such a shame what happened to him in the benn fight as he was going to the top, benn should have retired after that fight as he gave all he had left as a boxer, and its no suprise he had 3 of his 5 defeats after that bout as he was a shadow of his former self.
