http://www.pbs.org/masterpiece The Tales of Charles Dickens on MASTERPIECE Classic Sundays beginning February 15, 2009 on PBS. It seemed like the best of times, before it turned into the worst of times. Credit flowed like champagne on New 's Eve, until the inevitable economic hangover. Wall Street in 2008? No, London in the 1820s in Charles Dickens' eerily prophetic novel "Little Dorrit". MASTERPIECE CLASSIC presents this timely story of debt, greed, and love, along with three of Dickens' other great works, on "The Tales of Charles Dickens" airing Sundays, February 15 to May 3, 2009, at 9pm ET on PBS (check local listings).

"The Tales of Charles Dickens" features all-new productions of Oliver Twist, Little Dorrit, and The Old Curiosity Shop, plus an encore presentation of David Copperfield, starring Harry Potter's Daniel Radcliffe in his first film role.

  • @BENebuchadnezzar they often say that great artists are often inspired by trips to the `privy`

  • @ROCKSLIDZ LOL! RIGHT ON!!

  • @neryux

Yes, Daniel played David in David Copperfield.

  • @ROCKSLIDZ I have no idea, Dickens was extremely famous, perhaps he was easily recognisable from newspapers and the such.

  • @BENebuchadnezzar Sorry, but I have to ask... How did he know it was him??

  • I remember a masterpiece classic promo that featured "Flower Duet" remix as the song. Anyone remember it or knows the clip i'm talking about?

  • I Love Little Dorrit and Claire Foy. ;)

  • 3 or 4 of the people I just saw in that video are also in the Harry Potter series... wow lol. Look closely you'll see them.

  • @BENebuchadnezzar That's pretty awesome. Is it weird that I'm jealous of your great great great grandfather? Yeah, I think it is.

Don't you guys ever wish that you could go back in time for a short while, like a time-tourist, and have a look around? But I would want some kind of disease/accident immunity, cause there's no way I'd rely on 19th century medical care.

  • @WoundedWolfgirl WHAAAAAAAAT? If you don't mind, what country is this? I know that most people in my classes wouldn't have read Dickens, but I thought that university-educated people would at least know who he was by name...? I'm sure that some students in my science classes, who grew up in non-Western high schools, wouldn't know him, but no one except you and in a humanities course? My parents were raised in Iran and they knew who Charles Dickens was. My father even read some of his novels.
