The Golf Ball Test is the best way to determine if the exhaust system youve chosen for your turbocharged car is up to the task of handling the power output from your engine. Often times, youll find that you cant even roll a marble through a traditional muffler system which makes one wonder just how restrictive that free flowing exhaust must really be. Traditional mufflers use baffles and packing material a lot like steel wool to quiet the drone and other unpleasing sounds that occur when developing an exhaust system to make power. Obviously, the more baffles and packing material you add to reduce the unpleasing sound, the more restrictive the system becomes and therefore the opportunity for maximum power output is greatly reduced. APRs RSC™ mufflers dont use traditional muffler baffles and packing material, RSC™ incorporates a straight-through design that gives you all of the power of a straight pipe exhaust system plus the comfort in the cabin that comes with absolutely ZERO drone.

  • Won't the reduce in back pressure wear the pistons down faster?

  • too bad it sounds like shit...run eurojet instead

  • @slashfan7777 Very strange reply.

  • Apr exhaust definately not made by billy boat any longer. However BB looks like a higher quality system, don't know how it sounds though.

  • @ina04gli18t Without a doubt the BB system is not higher quality.

  • The 'Mid Collector Box' and is actually an RSC chamber, as well as the rear box. They are straight though pipes with reflective sound cancelation chambers to each side of the pipe. Reflecting sound waves bounce off the other chambers and slam into the exhaust sound waves and cancel each other out.

Essentially, they are straight though pipes, which is why a golf ball will easily roll through the entire exhaust with ease.

  • RSC Chamber - Potatoes and tomatoes etc.

If thats the case then its a pretty sweet system but aren't all these aftermarket systems like this straight through anyway?

I'll leave my OP as you have explained it nicely.

  • Some exhaust are straight through but those systems are very loud. They will drone on the highway. Drone is best described as an obnoxious DRRWWRRRRRR sound. It's difficult to talk over. It's not pleasant.

Some exhaust systems will combat drone by putting packing material and baffles inside the mufflers. This disrupts the flow of air, reducing power. It's often difficult to get a marble through those designs.

RSC eliminates Drone and keeps the exhaust as a straight through design.
