This is what stinks about being a gaming nerd born in the 90's. I never got the chance to hear about games like this because I wasn't paying attention, or I wasn't even there! Thank you Derek, and everybody else making sure the greats are never forgotten!
-
I've played this and it is fucking original and ahead of its time, also pretty difficult
-
Best game ever.

IF I remember correctly(and Derek could correct me otherwise) this was for an "April Fool's" deal where the Gaming Historian and HVGN switched places for a day so Derek did this show and the Gaming Historian did his. It was still a fun thing to see and one I thoroughly enjoyed the first time I saw it

MLK had a dreamcast...
-
your a little bit better of a gaming historian than the gaming historian is XD
-
Did the real gaming historian just want a day off or something? Or is this a batman situation and he is out on an adventure and you are using his title?

@SycoMantis91 I'm talking about LAUNCH, must succesful launch of a system ever up to that point. I speak fluent dutch, german and english and know my way pretty well in spanish
-
@drunkensailor112 153.19 million to 10.6 million. I'm done here. Also, I speak English and Spanish rather fluently. Admittedly, most other languages, I'm more or less clueless on.
-
@SycoMantis91 facts say you are wrong. dreamcast had the most succesful launch of any game console up to that point and more succesful than ps2 a year later, which launch wa shorrible for many reasons, mostly sony's own mistakes. and I would like to know how many languages you speak.
WHY AREN'T YOU PRONOUNCING THE "E"?
qwertyMrJINX 7 months ago
@qwertyMrJINX i am and i'm not; this game is not pronounced "Shen-mu-eh". In japanese the "e" in "Shenmue" is represented with a nobasu line, which isn't spoken. Instead it dictates that the previous vowel sound be spoken longer, in this case the "u" in the syllable "mu". However when written in romanized form, it's written "Shenmue" instead "Shenmuu". Shenmuu would be more correct phonetically but not grammatically.
