Amazing 'shadow tour' late-night gig at Cafe du Nord, in San Francisco, April 14, 2009..

"Hide Nor Hair" was originally written for Ray Charles and can be found on his "Ray Charles In Concert" album. The 'Dr. Foster 'in the song was actually the name of Ray's personal physician, according to the liner notes. (Thanks to Tish for the info!)

What a great b-day present, too bad I was unaware at the time. What a fantastic Hicks performance that night, more treasures for the VAULT!!! He is SO IN TUNE to the FEEL of the music though, ain't he?! WOW!!! He makes you feel so good to be alive at this point in time, I wouldnt' have it any other way, HE GIVES SUCH A THRILL SO GENEROUSLY!!!

Love Taylor's rendition of Hide Nor Hair. He is a master of his soul music and then some. He can perform just about anything he puts his mind to with pizazz as he shares his joy or sorrow with us. No, the drummer on "The Distance", Taylor's new CD is ABE LABORIEL, JR.

However, Gary Novak has been the drummer for Taylor at almost all of the "shadow tour" gigs he's been doing this year while he tours around the U.S. with his cameo role in the Broadway production of "Grease"...
