No, he was not a "drunk". He was freed from alcohol abuse in the early 70's, and went on to help others defeat the problem of being alcoholic. Please do not try to defame this wonderful man, because it won't work.

Barnaby and Romper Room with Miss Barbara bring back such wonderful childhood memories. Life was SO much simpler back then. Thanks Barnaby for all the great shows!

Wow. I was crying...Does anyone know if Barnaby's "Bufo Song" is posted?
-
What was the music Barnaby used? Never can quite recall the name, but would like to have it as a memento of a long gone childhood.
-
Any chance you have the full episode? I doubt if they even have it still in the archives at WUAB.

In Cleveland in the 1960's, Barnaby was our Mr. Rogers. I can only hope today's kids have some public figures in there life like these guys who were fun, polite and gentle souls.

It was Long John, the World's Only Invisible Parrot, and Barnaby was his best friend.

as a litttle boy i used to watch this show with my grandmother R I P to two great people and huge influences in my life!

I remember Mr.Sheldon as Barnaby from when I was three or four.He hosted all kinds of cartoons during his time on Channel 3(1957-1968)and Channel 43(1969-1990).In 1979 I saw him live during a celebrity roast downtown.I still have his autograph,as well as Woodrows.(Clay Conroy was one of the guest speakers,as was Marty Sullivan).
Kinda of Neat, watching this, brings back memories to a 46 year ole man! LOL, great to see things such as this are floating around, to quote Steven Wright! "You can reminisce with people you don't know"! LOL!

hellerc,
Could you tell me where I might find that CD with the theme?
Is it the original theme? The music that plays at the end always ripped my heart out. Whoever wrote that piece sure wrote some beautiful music. This was difficult to watch, as he choked up at the end. Thanks, conanconquer, for posting this.
