The second edition of the Smart Textiles Salon was organised by Ghent University in Belgium on 21 April 2011.
A variety of 24 prototypes representing the state of the art in the field of smart textiles and wearable electronics were demonstrated to the audience. 66 participants from 14 countries came to see and experience the latest developments in research and industry.
The interest of the press was huge.
The winner of the annual SYSTEX student Award 2010, Kunal Mankodiya from Univeristy of Lübeck in Germany, presented his work on developing an Active Belt to Capture and Process ECG Signals to the audience of the Smart Textiles Salon 2011.
SYSTEX is a coordination action for enhancing the breakthrough of intelligent textile systems. The project is financially supported through the 7th Framework Programme of the European Commission
