  • No. The dance was inspired by Josephine Baker. Beyonce even said it herself, so stop trying to give Shakira credit for something she had nothing to do with. Shakira was NOT the first person to rock that hairstyle or belly dancing and that's NOT the first time Beyonce wore her hair like that or belly danced.

Next time come with facts, not made up bull.

  • Just shows how ahead of her time she was :) awesome

  • Jopsehine Baker was the woman who have the dance in the making the boss of entertianment there was one where Beyonce pays tribute to Josephine Baker :)

  • Haha! Too funny

  • Wow!! this so works for me. Since Beyonce performed at Josephine Baker's recent 100th birthday celebration I would have loved to have seen them play this clip to this song. As Little Richard would say there is nothing new under the sun, what you see has already been done, and Josephine is a true original. A+

  • damn, beyonce copies again

  • @cameronstl

You're so wrong ... Beyoncé is inspired by Josephine baker, She's one of her icones. You talk about Beyoncé like she was nothing, but you're wrong. She's a talented woman, and role model for every women in this planet, independant, proud, she built her own career with her talent, she's a business woman, sexy and she represents women not only black women but women like Josephine did ... The fight is different today

  • @cameronstl I believe the point is to show the relevence of her style in the twenties and how she set a trend that is heavily influenced today. OUTSIDE THE BOX PEOPLE!!!!! COME ON

  • This is too good. And the music goes right along with this video clip! Love it..

  • This was nice, but having Josephine Baker dance to Beyonce's music is an insult to Josephine Baker. Josephine Baker paved the way for so many, fought discrimanation, was the most famous woman in the world at her time, which was no small task because this was at a time when blacks couldnt even eat in resturants in the US. The legacy of Josephine should not be compared to Beyonce. That's like showing Michael Jackson dancing to some new hip artist in 30 years.

  • J'avais déja vu la même association entre les chorégraphies de Fred Astaire et la musique de M. Jackson. C'est toujours aussi saisissant. Of course, ça prouve que les artistes actuels marchent dans les même pas que leurs ancêtres.
