-
@abfig78 I want to make a coil gun, but i'm new to electronics. i want to amke it portable but powerful. like enough to shoot through soda cans. can you some how tell me what to get?
-
BB describes the ammo, not the mechanism...
-
wow thats quiet
-
like your vid very informational!
-
what are the components I need?
-
These bb's are made from metal... They're ferromagnetic
-
LOL!!!! We have a WINNER!!!!
-
Maybe because it Shoots BBs.
-
wait, this shouldn't be possible... BB guns : mechanical firing, then there's also coil guns that use magnetic power, and then there's airsoft with pressure. How is this a BB gun?
-
nao entendi nada mais tudo bemn, pensei q fosse fazer u a bomba relogio, mias fmz te mais

I used a 800v SCR. I still fried my first one. You have to have the Diode at the coil. For reverse polarity protection. The SCR has a foward and reverse current MAX. So if you dont kill it before it changes it will kill your SCR.
-
my SCR burns some times after s shoot, what kind of SCR did you use?
-
I made one of these; abeit a portable one.
I think you could achieve much better results firing a nail or heavier ferromagnetic object.
I used bolts with the heads cut off in my coilgun "rifle" much better results than bb's
-
Thank you very much.
-
I need to let yall know that I do have a full wave rectifer before my caps. I forgot to say that in my video.
-
Very clean gun I like it this is the best bb coilgun I have every seen.
Nice job!
-
I just finioshed my most recent coilgun, give it a look as yours game me a couple of ideas

is a 35 v 4700uf condensator strong

Yes and no. The 35v is a little low. But on the right coil it will work. You don't want to over charge it. 4700uf is nice. You should charge it to 25v and test some coils. If you plan to hook some together read about series and parallel capacitors. Thanks!!
