1986 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 V8 engine 950rpm-6600rpm redline = 1/2 second! Throttle response on this car is crazy! Driving this without spinning the tires in any gear is impossible...the slighest pressure on the gas pedal pops it up to 4000RPM or more. The engine computer and wiring are from a 1993 Cobra with MAF conversion. Injectors are brown top 35lb. 1988 engine is stroked to 331, GT40 heads, XE270HR-12 Comp cam, 1.7 roller rockers, 1.25" x 2.10" ported stock intake upper/lower, 65mm TB, 4.10 rear, aluminum driveshaft. 2540lb weight reduced. Stock class uninspected, Super Stock inspected. Best run of 12.2 seconds at 112mph.

  • Can you say i have no respect for throwing a rod? or even doing damage to a motor?...you already said you don't do your own work...so just watch for the video of it blowing up...

  • This car still lays out 11-12 second quarter mile runs the drags with the same engine, 16 months after this video was taken... other than the clutch and driveshaft being changed everything is the same, so take whatever you smoked before leaving that comment, roll it and shove it up your ass kid.

  • how easy would it be

to swap out my v6 3.8 engine

    to a 5.0 in my 95 Mustang

  • Very easy, you need the wire harness, engine computer, 5.0 engine and the bellhousing for the transmission.

  • Were you able to retain the factory GT40 pedestal mount roller rockers?

  • Ok. Disregard. I finished reading the list. Yeah, 11-12 from that is doable. I agree it does sound stock. Need a walk around video. XD

  • I like a good v8 as much as the next guy, but I'd have to see slips to prove that it actually runs an 11 sec pass. Maybe on a gutted car with suspension, but I dunno. Buddy has an 88 GT that runs 13-14's with bolt ons.

  • Just read it was stroked to a 331. But it still sounds stock...
