  • @maddermofo The hell was that about? sbp902's suggestion was perfectly helpful and not smug in the least.

  • Eeerrr, Dr. John is playing that grace note with just his middle finger by sliding his middle finger off the D#/Eb onto the E natural in the I chord and the same with IVs and Vs if you watch his video closely. Check out Luckyluca99's Swanee. He slides off the black keys onto the white keys. Just for anyone who cares. I suppose you can play it either way, but I think the slide may be easier. Okay, burn me at the stake now.

  • @ImOnATurnbullHype I don't really know, I must have been drunk when I said that, I don't even remember it to be honest, hahah!!! Anyways the comment was reasonable when I looked back, in my drunken state I must have read his 'Burn me at the stake' as a threat to my knowledge hahahah

  • @pulykamell Sorry I just read it back there, maybe I was drunk when I wrote that

  • @maddermofo why are you acting like such a dick head ? i know this comment thread is done and finished but yeah ... sbp is making a perfecty reasonable comment ... its not trolling or flaming .. constructive if anything ... was not smug at all ... why put a tutoril up on here if your just gonna put down anyone who makes a comment ... bell end

  • @maddermofo You're a cry baby.

  • @maddermofo Aw, sounds like somebody can use a hug. {{{maddermofo}}}

  • @pulykamell The same goes for you

  • Yup, Dr John slides. A good player needs to learn to get the same sound without sliding to be able to play those licks in other keys. IMHO, beginners should start out sliding, to get the right sound, and to free up other fingers because there are some licks you just can't play without sliding. Your classical teacher'd rap your knuckles, but this ain't Beethoven!

    Great tutorial in any case. Now please play his version of Iko Iko real slowly so we can cop all those great licks!
