I come from Curacao, and you're saying it wrong!

Its ku-ra-sao (ku is pronounced as qu as in que)

Two problems:

It's /ˈkʊərəsaʊ/, i.e. it ends like "how" and "now", not like "show".

And you misspelt it, it's actually "Curaçao". If that second C didn't have a cedilla, it would sound like a K!

Almost everyone I know pronounces it "Ker-rah-cow," which pisses me off to no end. [When talking about the liqueur, Blue Curacao, not the island itself.]
