Sometimes, a movie can be deceptive in its title. For instance, 'X-men' features a cast at LEAST 60% men who, for all intents and purposes, are still men. 'Battlefield Earth' contained about 10 minutes of fighting in a 2 1/2 hour long movie, and while it did take place on the titular planet, an argument could be made that the producers and source material were other-worldly (to be put nicely).

Wild Guitar, though? You get exactly what it says on the can. Guitars? You bet, much to the dismay of the movie viewer. Wild? At least by certain definitions I can think of, wild is absolutely acceptable.

Arch Hall, Jr. is what every guy wishes he was--the son of a guy who wants him to be a successful musician/movie star and will spend mucho dinero in accomplishing that dream.

In Wild Guitar, Doofus McWannabe... er... Bud Eagle (Hall Jr.) is a small-town yokel from South Dakota heading out to Hollywood to make it big. After a guy throws up in his saxophone, Bud gets a chance to wow lots of middle-aged lonely women with his crooning skills. Offers come flying in--well, one offer from his real-life father is dangled in his face. From there forward, it's the life of a totally awesome rock star of the 60's.

Everything he ever wanted is his. The fame, the fortune, the girls... well... ok, maybe one of those three. However, Bud soon finds that the sordid, back-office hypocrisy that Hollywood is known for will suck him in like a sumo wrestler at an all-you-can-scarf-down sushi bar.

Can Bud prove true to himself, true to his ditz of a girlfriend, true to his less-than-a-minute-of-screentime brother, and most important, true to his father-who-plays-the-villain-in-the-movie-he-financed-for-his-son-to-star-in-so-he-can-live-his-life-through him?

Thus is Wild Guitar.
