IMO, those lamenting the changes in Ocracoke should place a large chunk of the blame on the installation of the municipal water system. Before that it was much "smaller" and the cistern water helped keep away the riff-raff. Thank goodness though it ain't like Nags Head...

W95 is a cool Airport I fly in every April.

hey, It would piss me off if a bunch of random people walked into my house, but you gotta admit a place as nice as that should be shared, but I see what you mean because tourists trash it up and stuff. I'm goin there in about a month and a half.

Very nice. But no one else should go to Ocracoke (we want to keep it the way it is ;)

ocracoke is the best island on the outer banks
We flew into Ocracoke last summer. It was a 1.5 hour flight from Raleigh, which would have been 5.5 hours or so in the car. Unbelievable! What a day. We flew to Ocracoke, sunned at the beach, walked to Howard's Pub, sunned some more, and flew back home.

That's the beauty of small planes. One can make a day trip to Ocracoke, as you did. The only drawback for the pilots is that we can't have an adult beverage to enhance the experience. It's a small price, though. Happy landings!
