It's revolting that these Prosecutors were aided not only by the Judge (wink, wink, nod, nod), the police department (personal note from W. Williams) to railroad these kids. I just finished reading Lynching in Malibu and it made me sick.

It is because they agreed to participate in the robbery which makes them guilty because it encouraged the robbery to take place. If they would have said, "No we shouldn't rob them" The robbery may not have happened. They did so something, it just wasn't physical act of murder it was the encouragement of criminal activity that lead to a murder. They could have stopped the murder in other words and instead chose to encourage criminal behavior.
