@kagemusha08 well said and analyzed I agree

@cell9899 Not entirely accurate. Shamrock was one of the first but there were others who were well-rounded around the same era (which is to say dangerous in all three facets of MMA) like Mach Sakurai. Shamrock however was probably the first guy to really bring in a kickboxing coach to train kickboxing and a wrestling coach to train wrestling, not to mention the first to really put a lot of effort into Strength and conditioning.

@IfritKajiTora The correct response to a takedown is to shoot your legs AWAY from the person trying to take you down. This is called a sprawl, it's a tried and true defense.
Trying to throw a knee when someone is trying to take you down will more often than not just leave you off balance and easier to slam. A takedown is deceptively fast.

yeah RAMPAGE head slammed into ARONA chin as he slammed him also but ARONA probably woulda been asleep just from the slam
-
Cool! I actually prefer early MMA to the recent events! Early UFCs were much more interesting to watch than the recent events.

@1990Adamd so?
-
@corporacionmonstruo You made that obvious.
-
@1990Adamd in English ? of course,not my lenguage troll
-
@corporacionmonstruo And yours is spelling ;-)
@XiuTheFeared "Scared". Gimme a break jackass. He's not "scared". If you have a devastating knee injury in football, it doesn't mean you're scared to play football anymore. He probably just couldn't fight anymore (i.e. move his arms the way he wanted). Calling Zinonviev scared shows what an ignoramus YOU are.

this guys was the original GSP, the first one to successfully integrate takedowns, submissions, and striking into one style, just like everyone else does now.
