The Rohrs still have several good years left on them, and they are some of the more reliable cars in the fleet. Additionally, there are presently no new cars to replace the Rohr cars with. The Alstom order is not intended to replace any cars, but rather an expansion to meet current fleet needs that include the 292 Rohr cars still in revenue service. If you think service is bad now, try taking more than a quarter of the rail cars out of service during rush hour. Bad idea.
Are these problems being solved with the Capital improvement find currently in progress?

WMATA needs someone like David Gunn who managed to bring systems such as Toronto, New York, SEPTA etc... back to life.

Metro on its worst day is still light years better than the system in NY. I wish the system in NY only had problems as trivial as this.

What?!The 1000 series are more reliably than most of the new or rehabed rail cars.

Metro needs to retire the 1000 series. They are too old and shouldn't be used anymore. So, stop spending money on them
